Frequently Asked Questions About Pocket Peelers

1. What is the history of Pocket Peelers?
The Peelers fund raising concept was founded in 1991. Today, MCC PEELERS is one of the fastest growing companies in fund raising with offices throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia.

As of 1996, over 160 independent distributors provide PEELERS to schools, youth sports, churches, and other non-profit organizations. We estimate that over 900,000 youth today are selling PEELERS just in the United States. Our distributors and PEELERS have helped raise over 180 million dollars for these nonprofit groups. The track record of this fund raiser has clearly established PEELERS as one of the most successful single products available.

The state of Wisconsin joined MCC PEELERS in October of 1997, developing the new distributorship of Pocket Peelers. We have been introducing southeastern Wisconsin to this new, innovative fundraising product, and the response has been overwhelming.

2. Do you work with any size group?
Yes! Pocket Peelers has no requirement regarding the size of your group. We have worked with as few as 2 members of a sports team trying to raise money to go to Europe, to groups as large as 2500 members raising funds for a new sports complex.

3. Are there any up-front costs?
There is no money required or exchanged before the completion of your sale when cards are given to you on consignment. We complete a group agreement which reserves your quantity of Pocket Peelers cards, finalizes details such as your sale duration, and payment due date. The completion of your group agreement does not require a down payment of any amount. *

4. Can we return unsold cards?
Yes. If your group selects the consignment in-hand sales option, we realistically estimate the number of cards required to achieve your financial goal. Upon the completion of the sale, any cards that are in perfect, re-sellable condition may be returned to us. This means cards not folded, creased, or peeled in any way. We invoice you only for the amount of cards your group sells.

5. Can we order more Pocket Peeler cards if we need them?
Yes! Additional cards are normally available immediately. Many groups may underestimate the marketability of the Pocket Peelers card and elect during the sale to exceed their goal. This is allowed provided it does not exceed our distribution agreement with other fund raising organizations and local merchants in your market area. You may also elect to purchase stock to keep on hand for ongoing sales throughout the year.

6. Are there lots of groups selling Pocket Peelers cards?
Unlike other fund raising products, Pocket Peelers is committed to limiting distribution in a market area. We time the start dates of our group sales very carefully, and allocate a specific number of cards for a given community. When we have reached our maximum limit of cards for an area, product will not be available for up to 6 months until those sales are completed. We allocate quantity of Pocket Peelers cards and sale dates strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. Our philosophy is simple: we want our groups to have the most successful sale possible by maintaining a strong demand.

7. Can groups design a custom cover for a Pocket Peelers card?
Custom covers are available to groups with a small additional charge. This is a perfect way to highlight a specific cause your group is raising funds for; i.e.,a Soccer club project, and any other great ideas you may come up with. Due to the custom nature of these cards, your group does have to purchase a minimum quantity of 1000. A nominal artwork charge may apply.

8. Which locations of the featured merchants will redeem my coupon?
Each Pocket Peelers card has a specific area listed on the front of the card where the card can be redeemed, usually good within the entire county. For example if you have a 4-County card, you can redeem your offers at any location throughout the counties of Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington or Ozaukee. To the very best of our knowledge we have agreements with all merchants within county boundaries.  On rare occasion a merchant might sell his franchise to another owner.  Our agreements are transferable.

9. What are the advantages of fundraising with Pocket Peelers over other alternatives? Plastic Cards that offer continous discounts on the back contain some of the weakest offers because the merchant does not maintain control by receiving proof of redemption. Some groups buy and sell them as "spirit wear" when most of the offers are considerably "soft." Compare any plastic card offers with Pocket Peelers and you will see.

Candies melt, get soft and must be kept in a cool place or refrigerator. Before you can make a dollar, candies need to be warehoused or kept in a large refrigerated truck. Pocket Peeler cards don't have any of these costly liabilities. Some candy companies compete with their fundraising distributors by selling direct. The Pocket Peelers never has, and never will.

Many schools and organizations are getting away from candies or junk food because of their nutritional value, or lack therof. Pocket Peelers features numerous restaurants, all of which supply nutritional information for you to make informed menu decisions.

Pizza. Everybody likes pizza. But delivering frozen pizza is a lot of work. If your refrigerated truck or van breaks down, you are out of luck. You also need a strong back and hand truck to cart the pizza. Why haul pizzas when Peeler pizza coupons will have your customers pick up the pizzas themselves? Customers and pizza franchises both like and use Peeler coupons. You don't have all the work and headache with Peeler cards.

Cookies & cheese are like candies and pizza. Both burden you with storage, carting from place to place, and refrigeration. Cheese is highly perishable. Peeler cards are not. Use Peeler fundraising cards and you never have to worry about hauling perishables to fundraising kick-offs, and then hauling them back for storage. Peeler fundraising cards never spoil and they're easy to pack.

Wrapping papers are bulky and difficult to move. There's no guarantee that your wrapping paper assortment is right for your market.
